Photoshop tutorials: Using actions
Introducing words: I'm sure you know what I mean You start
to graze your favorite-list in your browser to check out what's new on your
favorite websites.
And there is one (or even more) avata(s)r you really adore and because you
want to design your graphics the same way you're looking for a tutorial
that teachs you how this works.
It's sometimes hard to follow tutorials and, to be honest, it's sometimes
very exhauting for me to write them. That's the reason why actions are a
worthy alternative in this case.Photoshop Actions relieve this problem from
you.
Example for using actions
They are plug-ins which can be integrated such as brushes. This tutorial
will teach you how to install and use actions in Photoshop.
1. Installing
- Download a Photoshop action on a website of your confidence like
Grieved-Lightness ;)
- Make sure the file has an *.atn ending, because this is the sign that
this action is compatible with Adobe Photoshop.
- Now have a look at your Photoshop Folder and follow this path: ...\Presets\Photoshop
Actions
- Crap the downloaded action file and insert it into this folder
2. Using actions
- Open the program and an image of your choise
- Now you have to open the Action window (Window > Actions).
- Open the history window, which is included in the actions window,
and select the image layer.
- Check out the last line and mark it. Have a look at the objects at
the bottom of the window and make s "screenshot" of the marked
line by pushing the middle buttom.
- Select the action part of the window.
- Open/ lead the downloaded "action" by using the arrow at
the right-top.
- Now open the action while activating the arrow in front of the title.
A sub-menue opens.
- This is called "set". Open it in same way as the action.
- To get the effect of the action your image has to go through a various
steps.
- To start this process use this button
(Play selection).
That's it. I know it sounds complex and time-consuming. After doing this with
some other graphics you'll have no problems with that anymore. I'm sure
;)
Because this tutorial is not that ordinary I'm sure someone will have questions.
